Pop sensation-turned-actress Charli XCX has officially joined the cast of The Gallerist, an upcoming film directed by Cathy Yan, known for her work on Birds of Prey. The film, currently in pre-production, features an ensemble cast that includes Jenna Ortega, Natalie Portman, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Da’Vine Joy Randolph, and Zach Galifianakis, among others.
As reported by NME, the story revolves around a desperate gallerist who hatches a dark scheme to sell a dead body during the prestigious Art Basel Miami.
This announcement comes shortly after news of Charli XCX, whose real name is Charlotte Emma Aitchison, joining the cast of Sacrifice, the English-language debut of French director Romain Gavras. In Sacrifice, she will appear alongside Anya Taylor-Joy, Chris Evans, Vincent Cassel, and Ambika Mod.
The 32-year-old singer-actress has also expanded her repertoire with a total of seven upcoming screen projects. These include Gregg Araki’s I Want Your S* and the graphic novel adaptation 100 Nights of Hero, which stars Emma Corrin and Maika Monroe.
Charli XCX’s transition into acting reflects her growing creative versatility, with The Gallerist poised to further showcase her talents on the big screen.
