McGregor Confirms Exhibition Boxing Match Against Logan Paul in India

Former UFC champion Conor McGregor has announced a preliminary agreement to face American social media influencer-turned-boxer Logan Paul in an exhibition match. McGregor shared the news on social media, stating that discussions are underway with the family of Indian billionaire Mukesh Ambani to host the bout in India.

“I am in preliminary agreements with the Ambani family to face Logan Paul in India. I have agreed,” McGregor wrote on X.

This announcement follows rumors of a potential matchup between McGregor and current UFC featherweight champion Ilia Topuria, which both fighters have since dismissed. McGregor clarified that his focus remains on the exhibition boxing match with Paul and his eventual return to the UFC Octagon.

Topuria also denied speculation, addressing McGregor dismissively on social media: “The rumors of a bout with McChicken are false. I don’t fight nor am I interested in fighting a rapist.”

McGregor’s name has recently been in the spotlight due to legal troubles. Less than a month ago, an Irish civil court ordered him to pay $257,000 to Nikita Hand, a woman who accused him of sexual assault and battery in 2018. McGregor denied the allegations, asserting that the encounter was consensual, while Hand has gone public with her claims.

Once the UFC’s most prominent star, McGregor has not competed in professional fighting since suffering a leg injury during a bout with Dustin Poirier in July 2021. He also withdrew from a planned UFC 303 fight against Michael Chandler last June, citing a broken toe.

Logan Paul, best known for his career as a YouTuber and social media personality, transitioned to boxing in recent years. He notably went the distance in an eight-round exhibition match against retired five-division champion Floyd Mayweather in 2021. His brother, Jake Paul, recently made headlines by defeating former heavyweight champion Mike Tyson in a Netflix-streamed bout that garnered 60 million household views.
