Pakistan and Malaysia have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening cooperation in various fields, including trade, investment, and cultural exchange.
This was discussed during a phone call on Saturday between Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif and Malaysian Prime Minister Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
During the conversation, PM Shehbaz extended warm Eid ul Adha greetings.
Both leaders also prayed for peace and the protection of innocent Palestinians in Gaza.
Shehbaz Sharif expressed appreciation for Malaysia’s support and balanced stance amid the Pakistan-India tensions, emphasizing the need for de-escalation and dialogue.
He highlighted Pakistan’s longstanding efforts to promote regional peace and stability but noted that the country had to respond decisively to India’s military actions.
The Prime Minister added that Pakistan had accepted a ceasefire agreement, brokered by the U.S. and other friendly nations, to maintain regional peace and security.
He reiterated Pakistan’s willingness to engage in dialogue with India on all outstanding issues, including Jammu and Kashmir.
Separately, in a phone call with Tajikistan’s President Emomali Rahmon, PM Shehbaz emphasized Pakistan’s commitment to regional peace, citing the recent ceasefire understanding with India.
He thanked Tajikistan for its balanced call for peace and dialogue during the recent crisis.
President Rahmon acknowledged Pakistan’s efforts toward regional stability.
Both leaders exchanged warm Eid ul Adha greetings.
