Imran Khan’s Wife, Bushra Bibi, Recently Paid a Visit to the Family of a PTI Worker

Imran Khan's wife, Bushra Bibi, recently paid a visit to the family of a PTI worker, Tajuddin, who tragically lost his life during the widely discussed protest.

Imran Khan’s wife, Bushra Bibi, recently visited the family of a deceased PTI worker, Tajuddin, who was killed during the highly publicized protest. Speaking to PTI supporters in Charsadda on December 6, 2024, Bushra shared her experience of being abandoned during the protest at Islamabad’s D-Chowk. According to her, when the authorities launched a crackdown on the demonstrators last month, everyone left her behind.

The protest, which took place on November 24, was organized by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) to demand the release of Imran Khan. However, after a violent crackdown by authorities on November 27, the protest was abruptly called off. Bushra and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur faced criticism from PTI workers for retreating unexpectedly during the chaos.

Though Bushra Bibi has kept a low profile in public, frequently covered with a face veil and shielded from the media by white sheets during court appearances, she had led the rally. She remained on-site at D-Chowk, even after the authorities forcibly removed protestors. When the protest was suspended, Information Minister Attaullah Tarar claimed that Bushra, Gandapur, and others “ran away” during the crackdown. However, Bushra explained that her car had a flat tire, and that was why she switched to Gandapur’s vehicle.

Visiting the grieving family of Tajuddin, Bushra expressed her distress over the recent deaths, admitting that the situation had left her confused and upset. “I am not a woman who runs away,” she said. “Especially not from those who came out for Khan. I was alone at D-Chowk in my car until 12:30 a.m.”

Bushra clarified that the situation was chaotic, with several cars forced out of D-Chowk, but she stayed put as per Imran Khan’s instructions. She added that when her car was fired upon, the convoy only arrived later. “I stayed because Khan told me to visit the families of those who died,” she said. Several witnesses, including a PTI worker present at the scene, backed her account, confirming that Bushra remained at D-Chowk and did not leave until the situation calmed.
