Rajender Meghwar has made history by becoming the first Hindu officer in the Police Service of Pakistan (PSP), as he begins his role as Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) in Faisalabad.

Rajender Meghwar has made history as the first Hindu officer to join the Police Service of Pakistan (PSP), marking a significant milestone for the country. He has started his duties as an Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) in the Gulberg area of Faisalabad.

Originally from Badin, a disadvantaged region in Sindh, Meghwar joined the police force after successfully passing the CSS exams. Upon his appointment, he expressed immense joy at realizing his dream of serving the people. He believes that working in the police gives him the opportunity to address community issues more effectively than in other sectors.

“Being in the police department allows us to tackle the problems people face on the ground, something we can’t achieve in other fields,” Meghwar shared.

Police officials have also expressed optimism over the appointment of a Hindu officer in Faisalabad, the first time such an event has occurred since the establishment of the Punjab Police. They believe Meghwar’s appointment will be instrumental in maintaining law and order and solving issues related to minority communities.

“We are proud to have a Hindu officer in the force. His inclusion will be beneficial for Faisalabad and promote inclusivity within the police,” they remarked.

Meanwhile, Roopmati, a woman from a minority community in Rahim Yar Khan, has also passed the CSS exams. She has expressed a desire to contribute to Pakistan’s international image by working in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
